Barefoot Pest Control started with a collective commitment to do better. After years of working in nationally known pest control companies, the Male family felt compelled to create a better mousetrap- and a better solution for all pests.

Mark Male Sr. and Mark Male Jr. started Barefoot Pest Control in 2014 with a mission to provide pest control solutions that actually serve the customer. No quick fixes that result in quick returns from those pesky unwanted visitors, no hidden fees or unnecessary price gauging, and a real, experienced human on the other end of every call and consultation.

They were soon joined by Robert Male, who also left their prior pest control positions with the same itch to provide exceptional service for a cleaner community. The Male family became quickly known and recognized as experts in living a barefoot, un-bugged lifestyle, and ensuring that same quality of life to others in their community.

Since starting this company, the Male family has helped over 20,000 homeowners and businesses manage and exterminate their pest problems.

It is an underappreciated leap of faith to take as customers when bringing contractors of any sort into your homes and businesses, because these people start off as strangers. Over the years, many of you that I have met as strangers have become more than just customers; you have become my friends. We have shared that small overlap in our lives over and over again, until missing a chance to catch up feels more alien than that first meeting ever did.

Even before my father and I founded Barefoot, we committed ourselves to doing the little things right_ not because it is more profitable or more efficient, but because the little things add up to make big differences. It is easy for businesses to do the profitable thing because, as consumers, we have been trained to accept the bare minimum and be grateful for it.

We saw these opportunities and successes in customer exploitation in our previous employments, and we vowed to be different. The most incredible part of that difference is how simple the solutions are. At Barefoot, we do everything in our power to show up on time for every appointment, and while this should be a standard, I probably couldn’t find one person who hasn’t been stood up or left waiting for hours past their appointment window. We also pride ourselves on leaving homes in the shape they were in when we arrived, be it shoe covers to prevent tracking dirt in, fences closed behind us so pets don’t get out, or simply taking the time to put things back where we found them after completing our services. None of these little things are groundbreaking, but all of them add up to leave our customers significantly less put out by our visits and that is where the little things make a big difference.
